School of English Oxford
Located in the heart of Oxford at just a few meters’ ride from all the major bus stops and a brief walk away from the city’s key attractions, it is counted amongst the city’s most respected English language learning institutions. The school in Oxford was established over 15 years ago and over the time it has managed to build a reputation for academic excellence and an international high-level of teaching standards. It is the only Oxford testing centre for TOEFL, iBT as well as an exam centre for Trinity College. At any given time, the school enrols 130 to 200 students from at least 35 to 40 different countries.
However, during summers the number of students may rise to 350. Oxford School of English has two computer suites that are equipped with the latest, high-tech and state-of-the-art computers, a self-study room and a full-fledged library. Furthermore, the school also conducts an extensive social programme and arranges excursions and the most popular event happens to be the school’s weekly Pub Night, which usually attracts a majority of students and teachers.

Excursions and after School Activities
The school organises a social programme with various activities and excursions, some free, some at extra cost. They are a great opportunity to socialise with classmates, practise the language and visit new places. Activities usually include quizzes, movie night, cultural evenings such as Pub night or music. Students can join excursions to local attractions, park or a museum, or longer day trips to other cities on weekends. Afterschool activities enhance the overall study experience of the students.
This option is great if you want to live in a family environment, possibly in a quieter residential area but with easy access to the school or attractions. This way you will experience a family life and get to know about the other culture and habits. Most hosts offer an option to stay with them on half board so you will return home for the dinner and share the meal with the host. It allows you to practice your speaking skills and socialize at the same time. The families enjoy welcoming students in their homes.
