School of English Galway

Our UKEDA Associated Language Centre is a medium-sized school established in 1987. The location is in a beautiful, renovated 18th-century mill overlooking the River Corrib in the centre of Galway. For students looking to learn at a friendly school in an even more friendly typical Irish city, this school is the right choice.

About

The school’s main core is based on promoting learning languages and culture in a professional and friendly environment. The students study English with our team of experienced senior teachers. Students have access to WIFI in classrooms and there is the library and common study room, a restaurant and a café at the school. The social programme of cultural and recreational activities is to enrich the student’s time at the school. The cultural or social events vary and can be for example a traditional music pub evening, city history walks, movie night, visiting sport events, they are either free or charged at cost. The most popular course is a General English that can be Full-time or Part-time and is for students of any level from a beginner to proficiency. Part-time courses run over 3 afternoons a week or 2 evenings a week. Cambridge Examination Preparation and IELTS Preparation courses are run for students wishing to take one of these exams. Accommodation

Homestay

This option is great if you want to live in a family environment, possibly in a quieter residential area but with easy access to the school or attractions. This way you will experience a family life and get to know about the other culture and habits. Most hosts offer an option to stay with them on half board so you will return home for the dinner and share the meal with the host. It allows you to practice your speaking skills and socialize at the same time. The families enjoy welcoming students in their homes.
